Ice climbing is one of the most satysfying form of winter climbing. Climbing over an ephemeric icycle, a beautifull ice curtain or a giant icefall can be an extrordinary, unique experience, aesthetic and commiting at the same time. It can be also quite dangerous due to brittleness of ice, necessity of placing ice screws for protection, and serious consequences of most of the falls with crampons attached to your boots.
If you want to try ice climbing but you are not sure if you can manage the risk, or you are an advanced climber wanting to climb a specific icefall of your dreams, consider ice climbing with an IFMGA mountain guide.
